I tried varnishing these guys up and had one of 'wish i didnt' moments. As my previous posting explained i normally use a semi sheen acrylic, followed by a coat of dead flat testors. For some reason i couldnt get rid of the sheen and tried more coats of testors. Nothing would get rid of it so i tried an old pot of Humbrol Matt, and as you can see it completely ruined one of the figures. I really dont know what to do now, i dont like the sheen finish but i'm reluctant to keep putting more varnish coats on... I'm thinking of stripping them back and starting again.....

Artizan WW2 Commandos
Wow these boys flew along, and now they're pretty much finished. All ready for varnishing and just the bases to finish. I normally use two coats of varnish, an acrylic first coat of a tough wearning matt coat, followed by a coat of testers to get that dead flat finish.
Hopefully i'll get these boys all done tommorrow, and some more pictures up in the evening.

Artizan WW2 Commandos
I noticed i didnt have any WW2 figures to show with my terrain pieces, so i bought a small contingent of British Commandos from the Artizan range.
The figures themselves were nice and clean, with very little flash, and nicely detailed. The heavy machine gun crew will all be together on a 60mm base, but it'll be easier to paint them up individually first.
Based, primed, and with flesh areas base coated and washed. I'm looking forward to painting these guys up, and all the Vallejo uniform colours have come.
There is some WW2 terrain i'm planning on making, so these commandos will help with the theme nicely.

Rogue Trader Rhino Crew Space Marines - Finished
In between a bit of surgery on my son's guitar (installing an electric pickup in an old archtop acoustic guitar!) i managed to get these guys finished off.
I think they're ok, they add a bit of character, and my son's happy with them. Now i have a reason to move the Rhino further forward in my painting queue!

Rogue Trader Rhino Crew Space Marines
Been really busy this week, so progress on my projects has been a bit slow. The Rhino crew marines have come on a little, here's another WIP shot.
I'm hoping to get these boys finished tommorrow, so hopefully i'll be able to post some more shots...

Rogue Trader Rhino Crew Space Marines
One of two subjects on the workbench at the moment is these guys. We've had them for some time now and finally i'm getting round to putting some paint to them.
Primed in grey, with flesh areas base coated and washed. I'll put some more progress shots up as soon as i can .....

Perry Miniatures North American Store - Interior
In the last few days I decided to make up a few small pieces to add to the exterior of the store. Having looked at some of the small bits at Black Cat Bases i bought a selection of their 28mm scale bottles and brooms. These look even better in the 'flesh' and i hope you agree they look good on the counter and shelving i made up.
I tried to keep the size of the furniture to a minimum, but still large enough to keep in with the theme of the building. Their is still room for skimish miniatures to move around, and not being glued they are removable.
I hope you like what i've done.... I'm itching to start a new project but not quite sure what to do. I have a few ideas but i'm welcome to suggestions of terrain or buildings you'd like to see.
